Hand Therapy Appointments

Booking an appointment
  • Please phone our friendly reception team to discuss booking an appointment on (07) 4151 1222.
  • Please advise if the appointment is post-surgery, under a Workcover Claim or using NDIS funding so that approval can be organized prior to your appointment.
  • Initial assessment is booked for 60 minutes and follow up appointments are usually 30 minutes but can be longer as required.

Referrals
  • As a private client, you do not require a referral to be seen at Bundaberg Occupational Therapy.
  • We do require a referral if you are being seen under a Chronic Disease Management Plan, Workcover, Third Party Claims or DVA.
  • If you have been referred from a GP, Specialist, Hospital or Health Professional please bring your referral to your appointment.
  • If you have x-ray, ultrasound, MRI or other test results, please bring these to your appointment or let us know where you had them so we can try to access the results.
  • NDIS clients are required to provide a copy of their NDIS goals for our records and for treatment planning.

Payment
  • Please call and talk to our reception staff regarding costings.
  • We require payment at the time of appointment for all private clients.  We accept cash, EFTPOS, credit card and cheque.
  • If you have private health insurance which covers Occupational Therapy, bring this card to your appointment and we can claim directly through your health fund.
  • DVA clients are required to show their DVA card at their initial assessment.
  • Once a Workcover claim is approved, clients are required to provide up to date Workcover Medical Certificates to ensure their case remains open to cover treatment costs.
  • If you have a chronic condition, you may be eligible for a Chronic Disease Management Plan which provides you with a Medicare rebate.  This needs to be organized with your GP prior to booking an appointment.
  • NDIS clients need to show available funds for payment if plan managed.  Self-managed clients are required to pay at the time of the appointment.
