Bundaberg Occupational Therapy provides hand therapy and paediatric  occupational therapy services.

Bundaberg Occupational Therapy was established in 2008 and currently has a clinic at 298 Bourbong Street (between the Bundaberg Base Hospital and Mater Hospital). 

​We solely provide therapy services in the areas of hand and upper limb therapy,
​ and paediatric occupational therapy (developmental delay, fine motor and sensory management).
Hand Therapy
​
Our  Occupational Therapists who work in hand therapy can provide treatment for all finger, hand, wrist and arm conditions to help you perform at your optimum.  They have completed additional study and courses in the treatment of hand and upper limb injuries, scar management, oedema management and work closely with Upper Limb Surgeons.
​Treatment areas include:
  • Hand and upper limb rehabilitation following injury or surgery (eg fractures, dislocations, ligament injuries, tendon injuries, crush injuries)
  • Wound care and swelling control
  • Splinting with thermoplastic, neoprene, lycra or leather splints
  • Taping
  • Improving range of motion, strength and stability
  • Scar management (not just on the upper limb, this can also include burns and surgical scarring)
  • Pain management
  • Facilitate return to function and work
  • Recommendation of adapted equipment
  • Joint protection and work simplification techniques
  • Assessment of office/workplace

paediatric therapy

Our  Paediatric (kids) therapists can provide assessment, therapy and treatment plans for your child if they are experiencing:
  • Developmental delays
  • Toileting difficulties
  • Sensory processing and sensory integration problems
  • Trouble with developing fine motor and pencil skills
  • Learning difficulties
  • Behaviour difficulties especially if related to sensory processing​

COVID-19 POLICY
Bundaberg Occupational Therapy's COVID Policy aligns with the Queensland Government traffic light system.  As per February 2023, the system is 'Green', meaning no masks are required.  You are welcome to wear a mask if you wish, and if you would like your therapist to wear a mask, please ask. We ask if you or your child are sick and contagious that you do not attend but reschedule for you are feeling better.
Do not hesitate to speak to our staff if you have any concerns.
